This post unlike most on this blog is not for brides!   Mainly for single bridesmaids and any single friends you may have.   The YP Bachelor Bash will be held on Thursday, February 11th starting at 6:30 PM at The Brickyard Cafe.   10 of Bowling Green’s most eligible bachelors will be “auctioned” off with a unique, impressive gift.   This is just a fun night with proceeds going to benefit CASA.   Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door.   Check out their facebook page for more information.

We have become a featured wedding planner on WBKO MidDay Live  and it all started featuring the beautiful weddings that we have helped with.   I’m sure you have all heard by now of MidDay Live Throws a Wedding.   This is such an exciting opportunity for both Lasting Impressions and for one lucky couple, Beth Carter & Ryan Stanesu, who were nominated for our dream wedding.   This wouldn’t have been possible without all of your support and belief in me and my team.

We premiered the very first V.I.B. this year on August 29th at the National Corvette Museum which was a big hit..   Thank you to my brides who came out with no other intent but to support Lasting Impressions.   One bride in particular drove one and a half hours!   Thank you!

We finished our second year writing for SOKY Happenings as their bridal guide.   I have written about a new topic each of my monthly articles and all my ideas come from the wonderful people that I surround myself with.   Through submerging our team into constant training from the best of the best, we are able to come back and translate what we learned into our own fresh ideas.   Thank you to SOKY Happenings for believing in me and to the readers who tell me they are excited about reading my next article.

Tennessee here we come!   I love the fact that we already have one wedding in Lebanon booked for next year, and we are networking with new brides and vendors all the time in the Lebanon/Nashville area.   First KY, then TN, then who knows?

And best of all through everything that Lasting Impressions did in 2009 we have been able to meet wonderful new brides for 2010.   I can’t wait to get to each wedding date in 2010 and see the story that we have helped plan unfold.   Thank you for putting your trust in me and allowing me to have such a special part in your personal day.   I love what I do and wouldn’t trade it for anything

So how do you keep your emotions in proportion?   Even though at times I’m still trying to figure that one out for myself, here is some advice that I give to my brides.   With so many fabulous weddings that we get to see in person and in magazines it becomes almost impossible to not want more than  your budget can allow.   When it comes down to the line and you have negotiated as much as you can, but you still can’t afford the napkins in the specialty linen you want- ask yourself this question- in 5 years looking back at pictures will you remember what linen your napkins were?   Now I can design a reception with all the extras that you can have, and as much as I would love to be able to make it happen for everyone it just isn’t realistic.   When making any decision I like to think about what it will add for your guests, and what it will add to the design.    As in life, there are things out there that just aren’t feasible, so don’t stress over little things that won’t add or subtract to your memories of the day.

Have I mentioned the importance of this day yet?   While perfection is great to aim for, I have never seen a perfect wedding.   And even though I do see great ones, I know I will never see a perfect one.   This is a fun experience that you will only have once in your life (at least your first engagement!) and the more you try to enjoy the experience the more fun you will have.   Your wedding doesn’t have to be perfect, it just needs to be you!   During your engagement let your friends and family pamper you.   Enjoy just showing up to parties that are thrown in your honor.   Go to as many bridal fairs that you want to and experience as much as you can. 

Don’t let your fiancé, family members of friends stress you.   Remember that even though you can’t talk about your wedding enough, there is too much people can hear.   Make sure that you and your fiancé have a date night where you talk about anything but your wedding.   Make this fun and you will both look forward to it and hopefully keep it up after your wedding. 

Health, inside and out, is always on the top of every bride’s list.   When I say health, I mean dieting.   Don’t make it a diet that you have to do for this one day instead make it a way of life.   If you are happy with your body, don’t change.   If you want to change, don’t focus on changing for your wedding, rather focus on changing your lifestyle.   This can be a great time that you and your fiancé both look at your daily diets and your health.   Make this something fun and also be realistic with your goals.   There is nothing like trying to crash diet a week before your wedding because you bought your dress a size too small to make you stress!   A healthy exercise routine is something great for brides to keep stress minimized, maintain peace and balance.

On your wedding day, the whole world stops for you.   Not really the whole world, but your whole world.   So while preparing for this day take things in your stride and it will be here before you know it!!
